Israeli-occupied territories - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Israeli-occupied territories - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "he Israeli-occupied territories are the territories which have been designated as occupied territory by the United Nations and many other international organizations, governments and others to refer to the territory occupied by Israel from Egypt, Jordan, and Syria after the Six-Day War of 1967.

They consist of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and much of the Golan Heights and, until 1982, the Sinai Peninsula. The West Bank and Gaza Strip are also referred to as the Palestinian territories or Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Palestinian Authority, the EU,[1] and the UN Security Council[2] consider East Jerusalem to be part of the West Bank, a position disputed by Israel. Israel has annexed East Jerusalem by the Jerusalem Law."

  1. Difficult to understand how outdated the information is regarding settlement status. I have read that the Golan Heights has officially been annexed by Israel and is therefore no longer an occupied territory.

I believe the current so call "international communities" take on the occupied territories really stems from an overly strict interpretation of various measure put into effect to stem the tide of terrorist attacks against Israel. However the narrow interpretations do take the "game changing" paradigm by which the disengagement from Gush Katif on the part of Israel actually lead to more war, and less peace for Israel.

Therefore Israel's ongoing refusal to comply with UN resolutions or political pressure from the executive office of the US government is understandable with regards the paradigm-shift information which clearly shows capitulating to either terrorist demands, or political pressure does not result in peace in Israel!

The so called "international community" needs to update its information,or else simply sound like an insignificant and un-important voice which simply needs to be disregarded.
